ATREE broadcasts Balaram, former director of IISc, as its new chairperson

Ashoka Belief for Analysis in Ecology and the Atmosphere (ATREE) introduced the appointment of Balaram, present co-chair of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of ATREE, as chairperson of the BoT efficient April 2023. The present chairperson, Kamal Bawa, can be stepping down from the BoT on March 31, 2023.

Mr. Bawa has been the chairperson of ATREE’s BoT since its inception in 1996. He has performed an enormous position in shaping the organisation’s analysis and conservation agenda.

His successor, Mr. Balaram, is a distinguished scientist and former director of the Indian Institute of Science, Bengaluru (IISc.). He’s amongst India’s main biochemists and has obtained the Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri for his contribution to the sphere. Mr. Balaram has been related to ATREE’s BoT since 2020. He has performed a major position in steering the organisation through the Covid pandemic and constructing sturdy educational governance constructions.
