NEW DELHI: Birmingham Commonwealth Video games silver medallist triple jumper Abdulla Aboobacker received gold within the Mikio Oda Memorial Athletics meet in Hiroshima, Japan, with a season’s greatest effort of 16.31m on Saturday.
The 27-year-old from Kerala has a private better of 17.19m. He completed in second spot behind Eldhose Paul within the 2022 CWG with a leap of 17.02m.
In the meantime, Ankita bettered her private greatest by greater than 20s (earlier greatest 15:55.15s) whereas ending fifth within the girls’s 5000m, clocking 15:33.24.
The Mikio Oda Memorial Athletics meet is an annual occasion held in Japan in honour of the legendary Japanese observe and discipline athlete who received the triple leap gold medal on the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics.
The occasion, which was first held in 1986, is organised by the Japan Affiliation of Athletics Federations (JAAF). It’s a World Athletics bronze degree meet.
