Donal Bisht needs to discover extra in life: ‘Itni si to life hai, pura time TV karti rahungi…’

In an interview with Hindustan Instances, Donal opened up about her break from TV however claimed that the doorways of the platform are at all times open for her. “I deliberately stopped doing TV because I was doing 4 shows back-to-back, starting from Kalash, Ek Deewana Tha, Roop to Dil To Happy Hai Ji, all with strong characters which relate to girls of these days. I was tired, rolling every single day and never got even a day of relief. Then the pandemic happened and I wanted to do a web show. Lot of projects were coming so I chose this one as I loved the story and Kavya’s part. Season 2 happened after season 1 and there are other things in pipeline as well,” she says.

Donal agrees that cash is certainly massive within the TV business. “It is. Right now, every single day I get a call from all the big production houses, Balaji, Rashmi Sharma. She asked me why wasn’t I doing TV and asked me to come back. I said just give me some time to explore myself. She said, ‘please come back’. They keep calling me for every single project which they are doing but I am taking a break to explore a bit. Itni si to life hai, pura time TV karti rahungi (life is small, if I will do TV all my life) to how will I explore the other stuff which I actually want to do in my life. You will see me more and more in the OTT space.”

On being requested if she could be prepared to just accept a lead position in a giant present, Donal provides, “I have got all the offers for big shows. But I am open and really happy that people still love me and are ready to welcome me with open arms whenever I come.”

Donal says her new MXPlayer present has bought a optimistic response from the viewers and claims it stands out from different related exhibits on the OTT house. “I keep seeing many shows and these days, everyone wants to make great content as compared to TV. The shows I am seeing, I think we have made a good show as far as Indian audience and Indian cinema is concerned. It has lots of thrill, emotional ups and downs and whosoever have seen it has told me that they binged watched it. This is the storytelling Tu Zakham Hai has. They are asking for another season,” she says.

Donal performs a psychologist and a hostage of Viraj (Gashmeer) in Tu Zakham Hai. She appreciated enjoying a robust headed woman who can strongly see her feelings. “This girl has entered with a mission to save her father. Since she is a psychologist, she sees there are lot of problems in his family. Her psychological instinct kicks in and she wants to help him out. She wants to help herself and also help the captor, for her he is a patient. She is emotionally evolved and empathetic towards people. The whole journey of her falling in love with her captor has lots of vulnerable and strong moments in her life which people can relate,” she says.

Donal’s final small display screen outing was Bigg Boss 15. She was one of many contestants however was ousted from the present inside 18 days.
