YouTube is making an attempt to dam your ad-blocker in new experiment

Google continues to “experiment” with its promoting efforts because it appears to be like like YouTube could start on the lookout for ad-blockers.

Reddit person Sazk100 posted a screenshot of a brand new popup on the YouTube subreddit (opens in new tab) telling them ad-blockers are now not allowed on the web site. Because of this they have been unable to look at movies. After getting the notification, YouTube gave Sazk100 two choices: one) disable the ad-blocker or two) buy a subscription to YouTube Premium. This does seem like an actual discover and never some prank. The moderator group on the subreddit claims a YouTube worker reached out to them confirming its legitimacy. Other outlets (opens in new tab) have had a YouTube spokesperson inform them the corporate is working a small world experiment urging customers with advert blockers to permit advertisements or strive YouTube Premium.
